Positive: A unique opportunity to experience the culture and way of life of the Uros people. + Ivan and his family provide a welcoming, comfortable stay with luxurious rooms and delicious meals. This lodge is not clustered in the busy, tourist section of the lake, but is off on its own where you will truly enjoy the quiet and serenity of the location. We especially enjoyed a personal tour of the nearby islands, in Ivan’s small boat, where we were able to witness some Uros families just living their daily lives - mending fishing nets and gathering reeds. Be prepared to leave all of your city expectations behind and embrace the quiet and beauty of this place. Ivan is one of the most innovative people you will meet. He generously shares his personal journey along with so much history of his people. Staying at the Uros Titicaca Lodge (the original Lake Titicaca home stay) was truly a privilege. If you are lucky, you may even get to watch a thunderstorm crashing over the lake. Spectacular!
