Negative: To: Booking@Greenkey.is Booking.com Ref: 4800912168 – Neshagi 11, Reykjavik, Luxurious Private Villa – 6th to 12th September 2024 As promised to Green Key this is an objective review of our recent stay at this property. There are important things you’ve got right but, sadly, far too many that you’ve got wrong. As a consequence, it’s currently not appropriate to describe this property as ‘luxurious’, and charge such a high rent and we request financial compensation. Here’s a report of what we found that needs attention. 1. Wifi – Due to a forty-eight-hour electrical failure we had no wifi and streaming services for this period. During the rest of the time the signal varied in strength preventing use of smartphone activity on occasion. 2. There was no TV beyond streaming. 3. Towel – There was a blood-stained towel in the basement bedroom wardrobe. 4. Stove filters – Thick with grease. 5. Refrigerator – Stale smell due to being left unaired/unused for too long. 6. Light Bulbs – Many not working throughout the property. Thanks to staff for repairing them since. 7. Wiring – Exposed wiring under bay window in dining area. 8. Dust – piles of dust collected behind the TV. 9. Gas Hob – Gas cylinder ran out preventing us from cooking one evening. 10. Dishwasher – We struggled to use it, perhaps due to absence of a manual. 11. House Manual – Not provided despite it being requested twice. 12. Handrail – Handrail down to basement loose. 13. Washing Machine – We were prevented from using it during the power outages. 14. Small Bathroom window – Couldn’t close window leading to unpleasant cold air when using facilities. 15. Redecoration – Need for repair and painting around some window sills. 16. The exterior of the building looked a mess due to patches that had clearly been repaired but not painted. 17. The exterior steps need hand rails, dangerous for the infirm including ourselves.
