The corner sitting room is full of light thanks to the French windows that open onto the front balcony and a second large window on the side wall. The apartment is just 100m from fine sandy beaches and a 3-minute walk from the famous Lido San Giovanni, where you can hire sun loungers and parasols for a relaxing day by the sea. Just a short walk down the coast towards Baia Verde (20-minute walk), there are other bathing stations which play music in the afternoons, so will suit a variety of ages.
All the amenities guests might need, restaurants, supermarket (2-minute drive) and bars are all close by. Gallipoli’s daily fish market in the historic old city, is where you can pick up the freshest catch of the day. Otherwise, the weekly market (Wednesday) is an excellent place to find the best local ingredients.
Founded by the Greeks in the 5th Century BCE, Gallipoli means “beautiful city” and the town does not disappoint. The town’s ancient walls soar over the harbour and fishing port. The winding streets in the historical centre are home to impressive palaces and fine Baroque churches.
