For your day trips, we recommend the wonderful coastal town of Palinuro, which you can reach in about 30 minutes by car and which is located on a promontory, Capo Palinuro, famous for its scenic beauty and its underground and above-ground caves. Don't miss out on a trip to Cala Jannita in Maratea, also known as spiaggia nera (the black beach), whose special feature is the dark colour of the sand. Maratea is about 45 minutes away by car and is also home to the interesting Sciabella cave. For the art lovers among you, there is the famous temple site of Paestum in the very north of the beautiful Cilento, which boasts three of the most important Greek temple ruins.
